Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) celebrates the Golden Jubilee and National Day of Great Independence with due pomp and ceremony. The day was celebrated through various ceremonies under the leadership of Mr. Md. Afzal Karim, Managing Director of the organization. In view of the overall situation, this time the ceremony of the day is restricted to different areas of the headquarters building of the organization. In the first hour of the day, tributes were paid to the great architect of independent Bangladesh by placing wreaths on the portrait of the Father of the Nation at the Bangabandhu Pavilion on the 2nd floor of the BHBFC's old headquarters building in Paltan. At that time, all the general managers and senior officers and clerks of the organization were present.
After paying homage to the portrait of the Father of the Nation, a discussion meeting on 'Golden Jubilee of Independence, Significance of National Day and Bangabandhu and Independence' was held in the training center auditorium of the institution. General Manager of the Corporation Mr. Arun Kumar Chowdhury presided over the discussion meeting, Managing Director Mr. Md. Afzal Karim spoke as the chief guest and special negotiator.
In the speech of the chief guest, Mr. Md. Afzal Karim raised the issue of lack of self-identity and deprivation of the subjugated nation and highlighted the details of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's long movement-struggle, uncompromising leadership, his steadfast organizational skills and sacrifices in the path of achieving independence. He referred to the undisputed and patriotic successful leadership ability of the Father of the Nation as the greatest achievement of the golden sun of Bangladesh's independence as the greatest achievement of national life. Bangabandhu's life-long struggle, efforts and sacrifices are the fruits of our great freedom and he appealed to everyone to feel the significance of his contribution and cherish it in their hearts. At this stage, he expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifice of Bangabandhu and his family members, three lakh martyrs and two lakh mothers and sisters for freedom.
In the 3rd phase of the day's ceremonies, a doa mahfil was held to pray for the souls of Bangabandhu, his family members and all the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the great freedom. Corporationor Masjid Imam Mr. Qari Md. Hussain Ahmad conducted the doa mahfil.
General Manager Mr. Md. Khairul Islam, Mr. Md. Jasim Uddin, Mr. Md. Atiqul Islam, Mr. Chanu Gopal Ghosh and Mr. Arun Kumar Chowdhury discussed the significance of the day and the contribution of Bangabandhu. BHBFC officials and employees at different levels also presented their views in the discussion meeting. The program was moderated by the Assistant General Manager Mr. Anand Kumar Ghosh.
